RCI conducts full time Summer Research Programme (SRP) for about 60 students every year during summer vacations from May to June end for a period of minimum 45 days to maximum 60 days. Training is given on some of the selected research areas relevant to ARCI's ongoing R&D programmes. Initially students are divided into 5-6 batches, comprising of about 6-8 students per batch, to undergo orientation for about one week. After completion of the orientation, each individual student is assigned to a scientist. Under the guidance of the scientist, each student is expected to carry out an independent mini project. Students are allotted projects depending on ARCI's requirement and availability of the projects in areas of relevance to ARCI. At the end of the programme, students have to submit a report detailing the research work carried out. All students whose performance is satisfactory are issued a participation certificate upon submission of the report. Students who have completed their first year of M.Tech./M.E./M.Sc. or 2nd/3rd year of B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent are eligible to apply.
