vbovbovbovbo

http://www.iiap.res.in/degree

The visiting students internship programme is conducted by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) with the aim to promote scientific research interest in college and university students. Students selected for this programme work on specific projects that form a part of the ongoing research at IIA. Based on the nature of the project, the students shall be asked to work at either the main campus of IIA in Bangalore or its field stations.
The minimum eligibility criteria for the students to apply for the visiting internship programme is that they must have a consistently good academic performance (starting from their 10th standard exam) scoring more than 60% of marks or a CGPA of more than six, depending on the case.
Category A (Non – Ph.D students):
  • Students who are in their pre-final / final year of science and/or engineering education (M.Sc / M.Phil / B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech) and interested in doing a short-term project in astrophysics / astronomical instrumentation towards partial fulfillment of their college / university course requirement are eligible to apply. Students who have completed their last qualifying academic degree in the previous six months from the date of application can also apply under this category.
  • The internship is ordinarily for a maximum duration of four months outside the period May-July and needs to be carried out in a single stretch.
  • Students who want to work with specific staff members of IIA should submit a brief summary of the project they intend to carry out and recommendation letter from the institute staff member with whom he/she wants to carry out the internship.
  • The internship will be ordinarily for only one time and applications from students who have already visited IIA under any other category during the previous years will not be ordinarily considered for revisits.
Category B (Ph.D students):
  • Students presently carrying out their Ph.D work at the universities and other institutes who want to visit IIA for collaboration can apply under this category.
  • The application to visit IIA under this category can be submitted anytime during the year.
  • Their visit is limited to once per year outside the period May - July for a maximum duration of three months in an academic year, if they need accommodation from the institute.
How to apply?
Interested students should send their application to the Board of Graduate Studies, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Koramangala, Bangalore 560 034 through their Head of the Department. The applications should be sent at least three months in advance from the tentative start date of their proposed project work. RGCB - Short-term training

http://rgcb.res.in/summertraining.html

As part of its commitment to human resource development, RGCB permits students at the MSc, Btech, M.Phil and M.Tech levels to carry out dissertation and project work in various disciplines. During the past two years, RGCB has trained more than 300 post-graduate students from various parts of the country.
While this Short-term/summer training satisfies a requirement for completing the Masters program for a large number of candidates, our intentions are to provide these candidates with an exposure to an international quality biotechnology research environment.

Projects and dissertations may be for 1 month, 2-3 months, 4-6 months or 7-12 months. A service fee is charged from trainees to cover the costs of the training. The fee structure is given below:

applicants may either contact the scientists directly and secure their consent or apply directly to the office of the Director, RGCB, who will allot students to laboratories based on vacancies or acceptance by the scientist concerned. Applications can be submitted throughout the year but actual training will be subject to the number of vacancies available with each scientist. Allotment to individual scientists will therefore depend on their consent and spaces available with them. For further details, please contact the Public Relations Officer at the Office of the Director(info@rgcb.res.in).
Completed applications endorsed by the Head of Department and Head of Institution should then be submitted to the Director, Rajiv Gandhi Centre For Biotechnology, Poojappura, Thycaud P.O, Thiruvananthapuram 695014. Applications must be submitted at least two months before the dates requested for starting the training. Service fees may either be remitted as a crossed Demand draft payable to the Director, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram 695014 or in cash at the administrative office. The Director will take the final decision on the training and placement. Applications can be rejected without assigning any reasons if they are found unacceptable.

Guidelines for Summer/ Vocational Training/Project work/industrial training at IIP for B.E./ B Tech, M. Tech/ M.Sc students

Guidelines for Summer/ Vocational Training at IIP

The students of engineering colleges are required to carry out project work as a pre-requisite for completion of their B.E./ B Tech, M. Tech/ M.Sc degree for a period of 6 months duration. Projects of interest to CSIR-IIP are given to the students so that while students are exposed to the latest technological developments while working on real life sponsored projects. CSIR-IIP too benefits from the project work.

Since CSIR-IIP receives a very large number of requests from IITs, NITs, Universities, Colleges and individuals for imparting summer / vocational training to their students/wards from different disciplines/areas. This not only overburdens institute’s infrastructure but sometimes also adversely affects the R&D programmes. In order to streamline procedure for acceptance of such requests following guidelines are framed.
IITs, NITs and other reputed Govt. Institutions will be preferred to completer their project work and they will not be charged any fees.
Since IIP does have very limited hostel facilities, it will not be possible to provide hostel accommodation to trainees.
Number of students from an institution at a time (per semester / year) must not exceed four.
Request for less than 6 months of project work will not be entertained. No students will be allowed for 2 months summer training/ internship
Students of B Tech after completing 3rd year will be allowed for 6 months project work. B Tech 2nd year students will not be allowed. Similarly M Sc 2nd year students will be entertained for project work.
Students with excellent academic record having cumulative grade point 7.5 / 75% marks or more will be accepted for training / project work.
Training request will be accepted only in the areas of chemical & mechanical engineering, biotechnology and chemistry. Computer science students will be accepted only in case if there is requirement of IIP.
